Goose Lake Festival 40 Yrs Later

Hi Everyone

Well its been 40 yrs that the infamous Goose Lake Festival first happened and I want to say a big thank you to the promoters and hosts Linda and Gus Miller for the invitation to play last Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful day with an abundance of fine musicians.It was nice to finally get to meet Bob Shultz who is one of Michigan's finest and started many moons ago with the Bob Seger band here in Ann Arbor. Nice Set Bob!!!!! Here are a few pictures of the T shirts printed for the festival 40 yrs ago and one for last Saturday. In 1970 they had 3 days of peace love and goosing around in a lake that's 6ft deep at its deepest point Lol.(Quite the line up on the show) Last Sat was a one day event and very well put together, I wish Alvin Lee would have shown up again and said hi Lol

Back to Alberta

Hi guys
Just a little thank you to Terry at the Vat and also Mark, Tony, Val and everyone at Lacombe Days for the invitation to come play this past weekend. It was nice to see such a great crowd at the Vat and give Kellee a chance to meet a lot of good friends.
Thanks Reg for the lend of your amp and the famous Bitch guitar Lol Yep thats what he like's to call it.Love ya buddy! It was also nice to see my two sons Sean and Conor out at the club watching the old man play for the first time. Both of age now to enjoy a slurp!!!!

Nice Venue

Hi Guys.......here is a nice little pic out on Gabriola Island in Vancouver playing at our friends 30th Wedding Anniversary. It was a beautiful day and they let off 30 white doves for each year they were married. Nice touch Daryl and thanks to you both for the invitation to play and for a very special weekend.
Kellee and I both thoroughly enjoyed it, never got to a gig on a float plane before Lol. Fabulous!!!!!!

A night at the Lone Oak

Hi Everyone

just a little note to let you know I made it home to Michigan safe and sound and it feels so great knowing I don't have to leave because of Uncle Sam anymore Lol.
Well the ZZ Top opener did not pan out as Wide Mouth Mason got the gig throughout Western Canada. They are a great trio and I am sure Mr Gibbons and the boys will be impressed with the vocal and guitar abilities of this unit.
I just enjoyed playing a great gig at the Lone Oak Winery last Saturday and it was a pleasure to play for such a nice audience who were there to listen and enjoy the fine food and wine served by the owners Kipp and Dennise...... Thanks again guys we had a lot of fun and keep up the great work. See you again on June 19th.
Also a quick hello to friends Gary, Lynda and daughter Laura from Wales who did say hello on one of my comments back in February.Hope you are all doing well.

ZZ Top Opener

Hello everyone

just a quick update here and just to let you know that although I missed the boat to open for ZZ Top in Edmonton last November 28th when I was at home in Michigan for thanksgiving,,,,,we may have the chance once again here in Canada when they come through in June.
The date in Edmonton is June 11th so keep posted and fingers crossed we will be sharing the boards with the Little Band from Texas. Furry Critters they are Lol
From there, Kellee and I will be in Vancouver the next day for a private party on Gabriola Island.This is just a single acoustic gig for some good friends and will not include the band. Sorry Boys!!!!!

Keep posted and we shall see what materialises over the next week.

The Blues Sizzler for RDC

We had a lot of fun playing for you guys.
The prime rib was really good too ha ha!! Dan had Hot Dogs instead........

Kellee and I are off to Mexico soon for our wedding ceremony on the beach so keep posted for a few guitar picking shots from the Tropics!!!!!

Reggie Harping at the Vat

Yes I know its been a while since I have posted but here is my Canadian Dad going at it justa blowing his tune at the Vat last weekend with the band.We flew him in from South Africa for one night to play with the band. Seriously!!!! Maybe Fairview ha ha!

Kellee and I are going to have him down at our wedding in Mexico in a few weeks and don't worry babe if the bus hits him, I will pick him up Lol!!!!

In the Studio

Hello gang
Just got back from doing a little recording with my friend Rob in Jackson, all went well and another session is in the works for the Thanksgiving holidays.
Jimmy's studio is a great little pad downtown Jackson and it was a pleasure helping out with these guys., Thanks gents for the invitation to play on the recording.
5 songs down and 7 more to go at thanksgiving along with a little Turkey at our house with all of Kellee's Family. I knew we should have shot that wild Turkey we had in our garden over the summer.That thing would have fed all of Michigan.
I have posted a pic just for all you Oiler and Flames fans to see what a real logo looks like on a T shirt. It makes me play better too ha ha!!

North of the Border

Hello gang

Yes I am back on the Cannuck side of the border, at least for another week or so before heading back home to Michigan to spend 10 days with Kellee, Shelbs and the Pet gang ha ha!!!
I will be doing a little recording at a studio in Jackson with a friend who is recording a 5 track E.P. He has asked me to play on the recording so I am taking the opportunity to do so. I have met quite a few talented musicians from the area and it is really exciting for me and the road ahead.

Mike at Duffys pub has invited me to come play for 3 nights whilst I am down in the Mitt and I am sure it will be as lively as ever in the crazy Irish Establishment.

Go Wings!!!! They need a little something after the first two games against the Blues. Babcock is on it dont you all worry!!! No comments please ha ha!!

Live at Daryls Downtown

Hey Everyone
Just an update on a real nice venue I played last night.
Daryls Downtown Jackson is a great restaurant with some mighty fine food and real nice surroundings.
I have included a couple of pictures that Kells took of Daryl and myself after the gig. Dont worry I havent shrunk any, shaking this guys hand felt the same as when I shook BB.Kings!!! No kidding he is huge and I felt like a tooth pick standing next to him.

One for the Kiddies @ Joseph Welsh

Welcome back gang

Here is a little blog for all the young kids at Joseph Welsh School in Red Deer Alberta. Last Friday I spent a really enjoyable hour with the children of Joseph Welsh and talked to them about leadership roles. Also encouraging them to try to find their passion and to look at ways that they can work and make a living doing something they love for the rest of their lives.
We had a nice little sing song too!! ha ha!

Thanks to all you guys and Mrs Page for the invitation.I had a lot of fun.

Springtime at the Vat

Yes folks
this weekend brought us back to Red Deer"s favourite place for live sounds.
I can tell you it was nice heading into town on clear roads but springtime brought us another dump of snow that was not to welcoming when we opened the exit doors of the club at 2am. Oh well, spring is here and it's gonna melt fast.
Friday was a busy night and Saturday was a lot quieter at the club; I think gods dandruff coming down probably kept people at home.We had a lot of fun playing as always and thanks to everyone for venturing down to support the band.
It was weird to see my son Sean who just turned 18 sitting there drinking pitchers of beer with his buddie's. I must be getting a little older or something.
Thanks once again to Monsieur Cave for the opportunity to play at his fine establishment.Love the Keith Richards painting on the wall. Hope I never look like that ha ha!!!

Well its off to Detroit next Sunday to be with my sweetheart for the week and do a little work on our house. My female foreman has a list ha ha!!! It will be another night at Duffy's on Sat the 4th so keep posted for new pics and My Keno win.
Yes I feel lucky this week and I think there is going to be a few American Eagles flying into my pocket. I know there will be a few Captains going down my Gregory Peck that's for sure. ha ha! that's means Neck!!!!

James Hunter Shows

Well the lads and I had a lot of fun opening up for James Hunter last Thursday and Friday at Hexters Pub in Calgary and then the Polish Hall in Edmonton.
They were fine players and a joy to work with.It was funny for me to hear the old London accent again. Thanks also to Arron for a great job on sound out front and Paul and Darryl on monitors and lights. Special thanks to Kent Cadman and Keystone productions for the gig and great hospitality. "Fank ya mate" as they say up in the old smoke (That's London Talk)

Hi everyone

Well we made it back from Mexico safe and sound and had fun playing at Gary's restaurant in Puerto Aventuras, Duke the dog included on stage. It was tough coming back to Canada at -30 after being in the sun at +30.

It was a pretty nice temperature in Detroit when Kellee and I flew in Friday night; a freak Friday for all the Michiganites for this time of the year .We ventured down to Duffy's in Jackson again Saturday night where I played to a great little crowd.The new Keno sisters Kellee, Alison and Beth included. Alison and Beth didnt get to Mexico. I am sure you can pick them out. Thanks to Ernie and Mike once again for the use of his P.A and Mics etc.. Ernie is a great guy and a lot of fun to jam with. Thanks Buddy.

There are a few snaps from a real nice gig in Edmonton we did Feb 13th at the Shaw Conference Center. Big thanks to the Consulting Engineers of Alberta and the stage and sound crew for a great stage to play on. The production was fabulous.Thanks guys!!!

Keep posted for some pics from the James Hunter shows coming up this weekend in Calgary and Edmonton, Should be fun playing with another Limey from across the Pond.

Hey Everyone

Here are a few recent pics from a night out we had down at Duffy's Pub in Jackson MI.

Thanks to Mike and Ernie for the invitation to sit in and play at the Irish abode on Waterloo.

Just getting my face in the picture down at my new stomping ground meeting new players and doing a little pickin. Kellee and her Mom were my groupies for the night, I like to call them the Keno sisters ha ha!! Its actually a fun game to play at the bar. I never seem to win any mullah but Kells always comes out with something at the end of the night.I think Sheila ran off with my winning ticket but dont tell her I said anything.

Looks like I will be back in there doing a little playing March 7th when Kellee and I get back from our Mexicano Vacation. We cant wait for the Suuuuunnnnnnnnn!! to warm us up.

Engaging into 2009

Yes everyone, lots of news since my last post and great news at that.

Whilst spending time at our new home in Michigan over Christmas, I asked Kellee to marry me on New Years Eve and she said yes!!!!!!!

We are both so happy together and will be tying the knot in Mexico on the beach on Valentines day 2010.

Keep posted for all the news and pics from the upcoming gigs.

I just wanted to share this great news with all of my musical gang and followers.

Live Again At The Vatagain!

Thanks once again to Terry for the gig and everyone for coming out this past weekend and supporting the band. The boys and I had a blast playing to a real nice audience on both nights. I don't know when we will be back at the club again but keep posted on the blog. I am sure there will be a few more weekends at the best club in town before I move to the U.S. permanently.

I get my first American thanksgiving this weekend when I head back to Michigan to spend the holiday weekend with Kellee and all of her family. Cant wait! I am starving. Ha Ha!!!

My Summer Events

Hi Everyone
Its been a while since I updated my schedule and I am sorry for my tardiness in this department. However, me and the boys in the band have been busy and had a good Summer playing at different shows and festivals. I have included some pics taken this past summer.
As many of you already know through the newspaper article in August, I have been making some big changes in my own personal life. Yes I will be moving to live in Michigan U.S.A. as of the Summer/Fall of 2009.
My girlfriend Kellee and I moved into our new home in August which is situated halfway between Detroit and Kalamazoo.
She is a wonderful person who I am so happy to be with
and I really could not wish for anything more in a partner.Thanks Kell XO
